Cord leader Raila Odinga has blamed the Flying Squad for the murder of prominent businessman Jacob Juma.
Speaking at Kajiado show ground on Saturday during a thanksgiving rally for Kajiado Central MP, Memusi Kanchori, Mr Odinga claimed that police trailed Mr Juma for hours on the day that he was killed.
“Flying Squad officers trailed Mr Juma for hours and waited for an ideal place where there were no many people and motorists, blocked him and pumped 18 bullets into his body. They then went to inform the Police,” Mr Odinga narrated.
The former Prime Minister also said that he does not trust the police service with investigation since most murder cases in the past have been thrown out.
He likened the businessman’s death to that Meshack Yebei, a presumed witness in the International Criminal Court cases against six Kenyans.
Mr Yebei went missing from his home area in Eldoret in December 2014 and his badly mutilated body was found in March 2015 at the Tsavo National Park.
“We all know that Yebei was killed because he was a witness in the case at the ICC cases. Mr Juma has now been killed in the same way for exposing grand corruption and other ills within government,” Mr Odinga said.
The opposition leader further added that he will keep pursuing the truth about the Eurobond saga until all the money is accounted for and the guilty persons brought to book.

KILLED FOR EXPOSING CORRUPTION
At the same function, Cord co-principal Moses Wetang’ula said that he had met Mr Juma two weeks ago and that the businessman expressed fear for his life.
“We met at a restaurant in Karen and Juma told me that a hit squad was out to finish him. He told me that should anything happen to him his social media pages would tell the truth,” Mr Wetang’ula said.
Cord co-principal and Wiper Democratic Movement leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, also condemned the killing of Mr Juma.
“I have no doubt that Juma was killed because of his stand on corruption,” Mr Kalonzo said.
Juma, a wealthy businessman with interest in real estate and mining, was executed by unknown gunmen in dramatic style in Nairobi on Thursday night.
Months to his death, the deceased, 42, had complained severally on social media that he was on the hit list of very senior political figures in the country.
He claimed that the said politician wanted to assassinate him for exposing corrupt figures in the Kenyan Government. He was also particularly very close to Odinga. His burial has tentatively been set for May 17.
