Do you trust your other half?
Well, you probably shouldn't, according to this new survey. People are very likely to lie on first dates, about things which would probably be very hard to explain, should the relationship go any further. So you're probably not out with a 21-year-old or a millionaire.

Still, 37% of women lie about their age, whereas 29% of men lie about their wealth. We're so old-fashioned: We don't want women to be human (i.e age) and men still feel pressure to be the breadwinner. Just be yourself, guys. Also, weirdly, 18% of men lie about their previous relationships or marriages, so check his attic for ex-wives if the date leads to a home visit.

Meanwhile, 14% of women lie about their names, as in they will give you an actual false name. Why you'd do that is beyond us; what if the relationship got better? "Do you, Rapunzel Doomhammer Smith, take this man...?" Women were most likely to claim to be a model. No information on the placing of 'data journalist', 'journalist' or even 'provider of high quality banter'. Maybe that's just us. 68% of women said they would rather make plans with their friends than go on a date, but perhaps that depends on who's asking.
