Former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru is accusing the Office of the President for the woes bedeviling her.On December 2nd,detectives raided her home looking for traces of evidence that might link her to the various corruption scandals that happened under her docket during her tenure.
Waiguru, who has been linked to corrupt dealings at the National Youth Service (NYS) loss of over Sh700 million, claims that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is not independent but an appendageof the Office of the President.

This essentially means the detectives who raided her home got their warrant from the Uhuru’s office.
Her lawyer Ahmendnasir Abdullahi was quoted as saying:

“It has been reduced (EACC) to a department of Office of the President where they take instructions from”
This is after EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo said that Waiguru is not a witness but a suspect in the NYS scandal.

He said:
“Her lawyer only represents her. The commission never announced the same. It was not a statement from us because we also have officials charged with stating the same….”they had expanded to other areas of interest”.
“We are looking at the whole project and anybody involved. Whether in the middle or periphery or even far off, but with some sort of relationship in the project,”
“As far as we are concerned the matter we knew was investigated and file closed with suspects being taken to court,”
“If Halakhe says she (Waiguru) was not declared a witness, then let him tell us the crime they are probing her for.”
“Again they cannot storm people’s houses as if they are investigating terrorism,” said Ahmednasir.
