By now we know that Jose Chameleone, one of Africa’s finest singers, is a Kenyan enthusiast thanks to his numerous visits to the country. He also threatened Ugandans that he would relocate to Kenya if they continued to negatively talk about him.

In fact Chameleone reminded them that we Kenyans love him the most and he is always comfortable here than he is in Uganda, his native country.

But that is not the main reason why Chameleone loves Kenya. Speaking to the Nairobian, the singer has revealed that Kenya has done a lot to him than many of us know.

Chameleone told Kate Mukei that he was smuggled into Kenya the first time he arrived here. Someone brought him in with a cargo bus and he sat in the cargo that was being transported into the country. On arrival, he was accosted for being in the country illegally.

He was, however, set free and embarked on his music career. It was here in Kenya that he recorded his first ever song, Bageya, a song he did with Redsan. He later released Mama Mia which catapulted him into the limelight.

Chameleone also learnt Swahili in Kenya. He attributes his success to the warmth he received from Kenyans.
