Chaos erupted when supporters of Migori Governor Okoth Obado and those of the other leaders clashed over the rally. Obado apparently felt sidelined and claimed he had not been informed of the rally. In the process, Joho's bodyguard was shot in the leg and the governor's car also shot three times, with one bullet hitting the windscreen. The supporters believe Joho went overboard by taking his rally to Migori without informing his counterpart Obado. Instead, he has been leaning towards the Jubilee administration but has recently indicated he wants to defend his seat using an ODM ticket. But the decision by Joho, Junnet and Nyong'o to endorse Ayako has angered ODM supporters who believe the move was aimed at scuttling free and fair nominations in the exercise beginning April.
