President Uhuru kenyatta visited Machakos county where he was attending during the launch of the Last Mile Connectivity Project and commissioning of the National Schools Electrification Project. Despite power, President Uhuru is a socially accessible person as he passed by a Kiosk and bought himself a soda.
He is the most humble president Kenya has ever got. He paid a surprise visit to a Machakos shopkeeper where Mwingi Central Mp Joe Mutambu already drinking soda accompanying it with doughnut and he ordered one for himself.
In 2014 Mr. president and his Deputy stopped on their way to Tanzania and enjoyed Nyama Choma under a tree. Again, after the dismissal of his ICC charges, the head of state drove himself to his house. these are just but a few stunts that he has pulled since he took over presidency. President Uhuru is social and always ready to mingle, unlike most of the African leaders.
Earlier in the county, the president had toured Machakos Hospital where the first public hospital fitted with new machines was unveiled.
He also announced the decrease in cost of electricity to SH. 15, 000 from Sh. 35, 000. He said that this was after the government realized the increase in electricity generation.
